What is Kybella?

KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid) is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that is used in adults to improve the appearance of moderate to severe fat below the chin, also called, “double chin.”

How does Kybella work?

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.

When injected into the fat beneath your chin, it causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

Will I experience any side effects?

The most common side effects are temporary swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, and redness.

How many treatments will I need?

You will need two treatments spaced 8 weeks apart. Two months after the second treatment, results are assessed with photographs. If further improvement is desired, another treatment session may be performed.

How long will the results last?

Results are permanent since the fat cells are permanently destroyed.
