What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is an FDA-approved dermal filler that restores a natural, long-lasting, youthful look. This convenient treatment can restore facial volume as well as correct facial wrinkles and folds. Radiesse not only fills but volumizes and works with your body to stimulate new collagen and deliver a natural look that lasts.

How does Radiesse work?

Radiesse works with your body, below the skin's surface. Tiny calcium-based microspheres form a "scaffold" to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen. Over time, the calcium-based microspheres gradually break down and are safely and naturally absorbed by your body. Radiesse does more than just temporarily fill in facial folds and wrinkles - it can restore facial volume for the youthful look you want.

How soon can I expect results? How long will the results last?

The results are immediate. Radiesse may last one to two years in many patients depending on the area injected.

Is Radiesse safe?

Yes. Radiesse is FDA-approved. Hundreds of thousands of patients have experienced Radiesse. Through years of clinical studies and research, Radiesse has proven to be safe and effective.

What areas can be treated?

- The cheekbones to re-volumize the apples of the cheeks
- The smile lines that go from the nose to the corners of the mouth
- The marionette lines that go from the corner of the mouth to the angle of the jaw
- The jawline to restore a youthful contour
- The temples to even out hollowness

How are Radiesse treatments performed?

Treatment with Radiesse typically takes less than one hour. We start by first having you take a look in the mirror and identifying the desired areas to be treated. Then, a topical anesthetic cream is applied for about 20 minutes to numb the skin. Then, you wash your face thoroughly and we clean your skin again. Radiesse is then injected under the skin until the desired result is achieved. Because the skin feels numb and because we mix the product with anesthetic that continues to numb your skin as it's being injected, the great majority of patients are quite comfortable during treatment and can carry on a conversation with the doctor during treatment. You will take a look at yourself in the mirror throughout the procedure and afterward to check your results.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients will achieve their desired result after just one visit. Because Radiesse is a long-term cosmetic enhancement, a follow-up visit may be scheduled for a touch-up treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Normal, injection-related reactions, such as mild irritation, swelling, itching, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site may occur. These conditions typically resolve on their own.

Is Radiesse permanent?

No. Treatment results are long-lasting, but not permanent. The calcium-based microspheres gradually break down and are safe and naturally absorbed by your body.
